Dude!!!!!! That is no Dana Turdy 5!! That is a Chrysler 8.25 and it is a great axle. Just a hair less strong as a D44. It will work great on your XJ all the way up to 35" tires.

My XJ is 91, also. That is the same rear axle mine had when I bought it. The only reason I don't still have it is because I got super lucky and found an OEM XJ D44 in an 87 XJ and got the axle for a smokin deal. the ChryCo 8.25 is a good axle.

Well I believe you have a 90 so you either have the tirdy five or if your really lucky a dana 44. I didn't even bother to look at what year xj you had.
