You'll need to buy/fab brackets, or a hitch for the front.

Front - C4x4 brackets and hooks. Good investment and price.

There is technically no spot that you can just attach tow hooks to on the front of an XJ, so you will need to buy (or make) mounting brackets (linked above) to attach recovery points. Another option that is more expensive but gives you more options, is to buy a front end hitch: http://www.quadratec.com/products/92...googlemerchant . You can attach tow hooks, d-rings, or even a winch to it.

But the hitch will take away from your approach angles and add alot more weight.

or you can buy the reese adjustable front hitch from your local auto part store. someone here has it on the front of their jeep and it also strengthened their steering mounting area. i have it on the back and it work good back there and will get a front one someday. after using the front one on the wife's liberty, i really want one on my jeep too
