Tire pressure warning.
If I were to swap the front and rear wheels will this give a false reading on a low pressure tyre. I had a warning the other day at 31PSI on the dash. The reading on my pressure gauge is 35. I can only think that my front wheel is a bit low and the wheels were swapped after a refurb'.

I honestly hate these new monitoring systems, seems like they make people even more stupid, " not talking about the OP"..
I've towed so many cars because people would freak out over that light, I mean where's the common sense? Get out and look at your tires.. If they are not flat, drive it! They usually trigger when 5psi over or under the factory set.

You can thank the EPA and gov't regulations. Is it indirect or direct TPMS? Did u check the spare? Newer wranglers have them in the spare. More info on what ur vehicle is usually helps with getting info faster...

Had a couple of friends running JKs with the monitoring system in them and with airing down for wheeling the light was coming on all the time.
They fixed it by removing the TPM from the wheels and sticking them in the spare tire, as long as the spare is at the correct pressure, no light!

Thanks for the replies to date chaps. However is each wheel tuned in separately to the on board computer. My question is if I swap the front and rear wheels on the offside will I get a false reading on the dash. My dash shows all four wheels at the same time.
Thanks Colin

If you swap wheels around with out telling the system it will throw the light on,And some of the systems are screwy i have seen them say a wheel is low and its not and hasn't been moved or anything.

The Chrysler TPMS will learn the location of each tire. The TPMS on a GM product has to be manually learned any time the tires change location. It's called "honking the tires".
