Ve mounted my actual CB, just wondering how anybody else mounted their antenna.

 

Just did a magnet one for now when not in use it's behind my seat

It all comes down to ground plane. On cherokees about the best area to put an antenna and get the best peformance and range out of it, is a mag mount located on the center of the roof.

 

A generic hood mount works well if you want to put it up front. With good contacts and a tuned antenna, reception should be more than adequate anywhere you mount it.

My rear wiper was pooched anyway.
Used a ground wire to the mount bolt and fender washers to distribute the load on the fiberglass door. It's a Wilson antenna, got the spring at truck stop store, I get min 2 miles depending on terrain from a cobra 29.

 

I drilled holes through the bumper when I replaced the stock end caps with new ones. Ran the wire from inside the bumper through the paneling of the side and to my kicker panel. It works just fine when I get a pic ill post it
