Here's what I do. I took 2 ratchet straps and triangulated them and tighten them up. No flapping in the wind. I like those cargo nets though they are nice.

but theres really no noise from it, no more noise than what you hear with the doors off and if i was really worried about every little noise i probably wouldnt drive a jeep. but it's just for looks on mine
