Things not to say to an xj owner
I'm at Belle Tire right now. While checking the Jeep in, I tell the guy its a Cherokee. He replies "regular, or Grand?" I say "XJ"... he says "I thought XJ was a Wrangler?"
My day is shot.

This has to be at least the 100th time someone has said this but...my stepbrother told his mother about how I wrecked my Cherokee and got a new one a couple of months later, So she was talking to me today at my towns Fireman's Convention and she said "So what kind of Jeep did you get?" I said I got another Cherokee. Her only response to this was "Oh, I though you would have gotten like a "Jeep" Jeep".

My grandpa told me a couple days ago why i have mud tires on my stationwagon
i told him, have you ver seen another station wagon thats lifted? I drive a jeep, grandpa, and i wheel it like crazy, therefore, i need mud tires. His response was "no, you dont have a 'real' jeep, you have a piece of crap that should stay on the pavement before you break something. If you really wanna wheel, we can take my truck" ( 97 f150 2wd on highway tires) i was soooooooo furious that day

My brother asked me what I I planned to do for a lift...told him im planning a 4.5" suspension lift and he said "a body lift would be easier" I just said nah i'll go with the suspension lift
I just couldnt laugh in his face about it
As for all the people that get told they're xj is a pos I say tell them my xj may break down but atleast I can fix it myself without needing a can opener to get to every part
Thats one thing I love the most about them they are easily fixable with just a lil common sense

A friend from high school got a brand new 2011 JK Rubicon Unlimited. It's bone stock and she commented on a Facebook picture I posted of my XJ. It was this picture:

The comment: "Our Jeeps should meet up one day so I can teach you what a real one can do.

It is actually technically uniframe. It has a full length frame, but it is not as rigid as a "real" frame, it doesn't need to be. It is tied to the rest of the body, sort of a hybrid of a framed vehicle and unibody since it uses the "frame" and the body as structural support.
