If you aren't doing a SYE, the TC drop might help. You need a stud remover for the studs. I got mine at Northern tool.

I agree. A pipe wrench work 50 times better than a vise grip can do, that's what I did when I installed tc drops

The two studs have a shoulder at their midpoint. This stops the stud once it contacts the frame.

That shoulder won't fit through the holes in the crossmember.

You have to lower the crossmember, at least on one side at a time to allow the studs to be removed.

Failing to do this will strip the frame nut. Then you have to drill a big hole in the side of the frame to "top nut" the new bolt.

PB fabulous blaster will help loosen the rust.

if you have a welder, weld the nut to the stud and crank them out. that was my only option.. I would have been screwed if I had not been at my college in the shop.

what i did was support the tailshaft. drop the cross member and double nut the stud. useing the top nut wrench it down. but BE CAREFULL. use alot of PB or KROIL if you can get it. Because if u brake the stup ull need an extractor.

What you need for the studs is a pair of one handed pliers. Or stud extractors. I used both on mine.

One handed pliers work wonders like you wouldn't believe. Seriously. Lol

I used the crossmember out of a ax 15 manual trans. Gave me about 3/4 drop. No loss is ground clearance and no vibes. Look at the manual and auto crossmembers side by side and you will see the diffrence.
