Default TC Drop ?

Heys guys I need some help. I have a 2001 Xj with 77000 miles on it and want to put on a 3 inch lift ( not sure which one yet) with 31's. I've read about XJ's having vibration problems with a 3 inch or higher lift and I'm trying to prevent that by getting everything I need from the start. My rig will be a DD and I want to lift it mainly for the look but still funtional off road while hunting. I've read how some say not to use a TC drop cause they defeat the purpose of getting ground clearance from a lift but is this the only reason or are they bad on other components? I really don't want to invest in a SYE and new driveshaft due to the expense but I also don't want to screw anything up with a TC drop. Like I said earlier this lifting is mainly for looks and won't be on any hardcore trails or rock crawling. Thanks

Put the lift on, if it vibes it will either wear in or continue to vibe, then you do a TC drop. Not the fix before you know if you will have the problem or not.

I would have said SYE, but the PO doesn't want to spend that much. So in Turn you're giving the bad advice.

And if a t case drop never gets hung up and protects against vibration how is it junk exactly? Not expensive enough? Every xj lift is a little different and every xj is wheeled different so maybe the OP doesn't need to drop the cash on a SYE or hack and tap.

Thanks guys for the help. Obviously there are different opinions on here on what is right. As long as the TC drop doesn't hurt or affect any parts in the long run then I might go with it.
