Well Sunday morning my girlfriend took the 2001 cherokee that I spent months rebuilding from the ground up. Literally has 25 thousand miles on it. New everything except paint.
I'm so glad she was driving it, the police told me that if she was in a car they would have had to cut her out of it. Just a bruised knee.
Anyway she slid across the road and hit a pole head on spun around into the woods on the other side.
No airbag deployment the engin was still running but it's crushed back to the engine mounts in the front.
All the doors open and close, no check engine lights on and it still starts up even though the radiator is trashed and stuffed into the fan.
I'm hopeing I can get it fixed.
Anyone have that kind of dammage and have a shop fix it?

Glad your GF is ok. The IIHS rated the 01 XJ at marginal over all in there crash test.
I'm guessing you only had liability on it or you would be letting the insurance company deal with it. If you can not do the work yourself you may just want to look for another XJ unless you have deep pockets

No we have full coverage bumper to bumper , but I did not have it re inspected since I rebuilt it so I'm concerned that all the parts tires and such will be a loss
. I have 80-05% of the receipts so I'm hopeful that I can recoup some of it if they won't spring to have it fixed
All the doors open fine along with the tail gate it starts and runs,
I have done all the work on the jeep myself I was in the process of gathering 456 gears and lockers for it so I'm pissed hahah
In regards to the pictures I have a tone of them I use image shack but I can't get anything to link to the forum on here. Any pointers there would be great!
If it's a loss I'll be in the market for another cherokee in the 5 to 6000 range that's clean and built right.
Thanks guys

Ok time to rant!!! Came home today from work and the cherokee was gone from my driveway, the insurance company sent a tow company to take it to a shop with out my consent or even a phone call. this after fighting with them for 3 days over a care rental.
I did not even take my tools or equipment out of it.
so the fighting begins. BTW what's the deal with posting pictures on here???
I'm not that computer retarded just partly.

Good luck man, insurance companies are a pain. I'm sure you already know this but, they like to tell you that you have to take it to a certain place, but you can take it where ever the heck you want. Hope it all turns out good for you, and I'm glad no one was hurt!

Well after a long fight with the insurance company and the proof with a stack of receipts , they folded and the jeep will be fixed I'll have it back in 2-3 weeks.
Replacing the hole front end from the cab forward , it will be completely repainted front to back.
First thing I'll be adding after that is a bumper/winch mount form mark at detour off-road.
Total cost $4200.00 for everything. sounds high but they valued the jeep at 10k
It pays to fight with them and having proof of every penny you spend that's not maintenance related is key to coming out on top.
I'll keep posting when I get it back I'm sure there will be kettle bugs to work out.
