I think it would be fine, with the seats folded down it wouldn't be bad at all.
I'm 6 foot give or take an inch, and I can lay down at a diagonal in the back pretty comfortably
Go for it! I'd like to hear how it goes.

When I went camping last year I slept in it. Removed the bottom rear cushion completely and folded the back portion down. Put down a cheapo foam pad, a comforter and a blanket then two sleeping bags on top to sleep under. Very comfortable

I don't sleep in the back, too much **** for me to fit. I do bring a hammock some 5/50 cord and d rings and hook one part up to a tree and another to roof rack/rail of the jeep

It's doable. Bring a warm blanket for winter and off seasons and make a screen with magnets so you can roll you windows down in summer. I went down to Maryland a few weekends back. Wasn't plannin on sleeping there. Slept in the jeep a few hours and my only complaint was being cold cause I wasn't prepared. I don't use the back seats so they are removed. I laid my head on the center console

At 6'0" I've done it and will say, yes and no. Yes a 6' foot person fits. No, there isn't 6' of flat under you. Even diagonal it's a little too short. My feet or head hang off or bump into the lift gate. A young person or somebody that can sleep curled up will be fine. I can't sleep like that and have to be straight. Something needs to be placed on the rear seat floor to make it long enough. Easy enough with a bag of clothes or whatever.
I totally agree it's convenient. You can skip a lot of gear. This will be my new setup for when I go by myself and only 1 or 2 nights.

You can also flip the front seats around.
A long time ago there was a thread about someone who did it. You gotta reverse the seats, tho, for some reason.
My seats are fairly easy to pull out, just 4 bolts per side. A good option for me as I'm 6'1".
I used to sleep in my xJ every day for my lunch hour at work.

I sleep in the back of mine all the time.. Probably over 60 times. The key is to sleep on an angle from driver to passenger. I'm 5'10. My fiance and I have stayed back there maybe a dozen times and it get's a little tight.
