What have you done to your XJ, mechanically or otherwise, that you felt bad about and were surprised that it still starts and runs, despite the emotional or physical damage you may have inflicted?
I Shall Start:
I gave Jovie a wash and wax in preperation to take her to Prom. She even got the carpet shampooed. At the last minute, I got permission to take the Folkses' Unlimited JK and took it instead. I felt horrible for leaving my poor Baby at home on Prom night. My payback? I'm averaging 18 miles per gallon on the tank of gas I'm currently burning. And she still loves me.

I was out playing paintball with some friends and I decided it woulod be a good idea to shoot the side of my jeep. After about 80 shoots, the side of the jeep was covered with paint so I washed it off to find that it looked like she was in a hail strom. There were little dents every where. I had always bregged to my brother that my panels were more dent-free than his but now they are not. I felt awful for destroying half of the jeep. Anyway, I think she still loves me, or she is waiting for the right moment to get her revenge.

First time I block lifted an XJ.
Installed 2.5 HSS tube between axle and springs, long ubolts, hurry and excitement to see the reslults. Put the tires back on, dropper her off the stands and took her for a test drive.
Should have removed the rear sway bar!
The bar ends used to ride within the diameter of the stock rim.
Now they were grinding their own new clearance path all around the interior side walls of two previously good rear tires
To make it up to her, she got rid of that nasty sway bar and a fresh set of rubber all round.

After pampering my xj by never taking her on the highway the one time I did which was Sunday she decided that she didn't like it so she exploded my rear driveshaft and crack my t-case I had go drive home in front wheel drive for 20 miles on the curvy back roads and she rode like a Cadillac. Looks like she's getting trailers on my trips this summer

i got really irritated when i was trying to figure out what was wrong with her a few months ago (ended up replacing the head gasket) but before i figured it out i did everything that i thought would help and got nothing, so i punched the front fender in and i cant pull it back out, i felt so bad after i did it that i wanted to cry lol, i used to get really impatient quick and i used to take it out on the poor jeep, luckily ive gotten over all that haha, but she still loves me and is the only vehicle i drive that i can count on to start all the time when i get in it

Let's face it a jeep can take alot of abuse and still run. Well me i can be an impatient driver so one day someone infront of me number one had no idea where they were going and number two were driving way to slow. So what does the impatient driver do. Sped around their right side rammed into a mound of snow jumped into and screwed my flares up. Thankfully nothing else. Not make it up to her on her next oil change I did the TC roared tires and redid ally flares and got them tight. Please love your jeeps
