If you want tight bass, make sure you get a sealed box.

That video will educate you on the basics. Also, make sure the box matches the sub. Different subs are made with different boxes in mind. So make sure the sub box you get has the correct interior space, etc.

Rockford isn't what it used to be. Your best middle of the road brand would be a Soundstream. I recommend getting A Digital Design 8'. Don't laugh at it yet, and those who don't know shouldn't bash it. That 8' with a good amp combo will more then satisfy your needs. Match that with some high grade components (i.e Massive, Digital Design, or Sundown Audio) accompanied by a good head unit will certainly make your ride a head turner and something people will want to check out.

I bought all the stereo equipment about 5-6 years ago. The 1400 watt 5-channel amp, Is a Pyle. If I remember about $160- $180. I bought for function not looks. (It is under the seat anyway.) The 5.25's, I paid about $80 for one pair. The 6x9's I think where $90 also a pair. And the sub I bought used in a double box (two 10") off of e-bay for about $60. Shipped to my house. (I couldn't believe it, It was heavy). If your interested I have 4 6x8 120 watt 3-way Rockford Fosgates, I had in my ford explorer for about six months. Then they sat in my garage for 4 years. There on craigslist. (I been getting rid of everything I don't use anymore.) http://appleton.craigslist.org/ele/3054435866.html make an offer. They don't have grills. You would have to order some. I opened up the mounting hole in the rear hatch to fit the 6x9 in. It just a fiberglass panel. look around in pawn shops for some possiblities.

I don't want to bash anyone's stuff, but I spend a lot of time in a car audio shop with national titles... And Rockford Fosgate just isn't the quality it used to be. I personally wouldn't run their stuff.

I dunno how he did it, but there is a gentleman on this forum running a double din receiver and it looks completely factory. I'll look around for the thread.

Then you heard of the head unit I'm using. "Pioneer premier DEH-90HDD". Because every car audio shop I've been in. The sale reps. say "they never heard of it. And don't carry anything that high end." Even though it's 12 years old, It is still worth more than most head unit on the market. As for the Rockford Fosgates. I'm very happy with them, I'll stick with them. If I ever change them out, it would to go to Bose. "I don't want to bash anyone's stuff, but I personally wouldn't run their stuff". I personally wouldn't take the advice of someone recommending "Sound stream". To each, their own I guess.

Yeah, that stuff is about as good as good could get. As far as a head unit, if you're wanting a screen Soundstream makes a great unit. But if you just want something good.I'd go with a Clarion or Kenwood.

Pioneer has always made great QUALITY equipment. Rockford Fosgate USED to be really good stuff... Not so much anymore. As for my recommendation of Soundstream, I called that "middle of the road," as far as a door speaker is concerned. But they do make the best shallow mounts(space saving) and screen units.

Alright guys! I guess im going with a 12" unless i can get my cousin to trade me his 15" box. Flip out screen it is then. Might make it a custom top center console to mount a small tv but not sure on that.

If you want to save space get a shallow mount sub and box, I'm sure it will more then satisfy your needs still. As for the TV? The screen should satisfy those needs as well?

Many of the screens are RCA compatible, so with a DC/AC converter yeah!
