Roof gutter trim?
On the pass side of my Cherokee the black trim piece that runs along the roof edge flew off on the highway! Looking at the metal edge left that was under it it appears it was held on by some fiberglass strand reinforced packing tape. (done by the PO im sure). How do I reattach this if i can find a new trim piece?
There is a place nearby where people dump unused cars. ( the cops and DEP dont care and wont remove the wrecks the local Fire Dept actually burns cars there for training and leaves the wrecks) and there is a Cherokee there flipped on its roof with the entire drivetrain and all doors/hatch removed. If I can somehow get this trim piece off of it without kinking or breaking it can it just be epoxied back on?

The rail is held on by 4 clips that slide into the trim piece.
The trim clips are located at the front, rear, and two locations in the middle.
To remove it, simply pull up from the bottom edge and will pop right off.
This is the clip inside the trim.
Side view of the clip in it's upright position.
When reinstalling the trim, start with top edge and push downward to snap the clip back in place.
Hope this will help.

WOW!
Thanks so much for those pics. From the looks of mine the clips were long gone and somebody built up the metal underneath with packing tape to friction fit the trim back on.
Hopefully after i change my rear tranny mount Wednesday i can make it out and see if i can get the trim off that flipped XJ if it isnt gone/destroyed already.

YA I just ripped mine off on Turkey Day..
Looks like I might try and make some pipe roof rails to replace the trim..
