Let me tell ya how awesome it is to be sitting inside the Jeep when somebody else slams my rear gate. How the window has not exploded into millions of tiny particles of glass yet...

My wonderful wife, and two daughters constantly do it. The kids I can excuse since they are small and just don't get it. No matter how many times they have been told, but the wife? well, she never really took care of any car she owned... so I guess i shouldn't expect much from her. AARGHH! Its pretty bad when you can't let somebody touch something as simple as this because they can't handle it properly. Just needed to rant about it I guess. Thanks for listening.

True, I have done some abuse myself BUT its my jeep. I break it... I fix it. But that hatch has alot of weight behind it when it comes slamming down, hell I think the rear of the jeep even squats down from the inertia.

the hatch i can see bein a lil hesitent about slammin closed
but i slam my regular doors and tell everyone that gets in that they have to slam the doors and they always look at me all afraid to break something!
my passanger side door is bent from being in a roll over and the driver side is just off alignment since my top hinge needs to be welded but im outta comission for about another week and a half

its a jeep just slam the doors and carry on

Atleast it's a jeep man. I have owned several 2nd gen eclipses. They have no frame around the windows an they rattle pretty easily. My wife used to slam the **** out of my door every time she got in or out. It's like a 3 ft piece of glass that's only supported by the top of the door for god sakes! I used to be on a dsm forum an that was always a hot topic of discussion.

I've had my rear hatch glass rubber pop out of the frame once. Was kinda funny since it was hanging by 2 defroster wires.

I hear ya on that! My wife has either totaled or blown up every car (6) i've ever given her in the eight years we've been together. Its like they dont care because they know we will always get them another one or fix it! WTH!!!
