Looking for an XJ
Hello all, well after selling my last project, Im looking for a new one. Dont hate me Kyle, you know Im sick. So what I need to know is whats the best stock XJ to start with? I know everyone has their own opinion but Im willing to listen. Im not looking to make it a trail rig but a DD with the option of some weekend warrior type of stuff. I live way out of town and would need to keep it as fuel efficient as possible of course. So lets see where this goes. Thanks to all of you who respond and I will be starting a build thread once Ive decided.

I have been extremely satisfied with my 1992 Cherokee laredo High Output. It has always been so solid and Im running around 230 now. 3" lift and 31's and shes a great DD/ very capable offtrail rig
Make sure to get Purple and chrome !

i always try to go with something thats pretty baseline, manual windows, locks, seats ect, less stuff to break imo, i used to have a limited and everything was always breaking, my new xj has no options (not even intermittent wipers) and so far had no issues, tho i do wish it had intermittent wipers lol

The 2000's with out abs and the 2001's came with the C8.25/29 spline witch puts you at a advantage right of the bat vs having the turd D35.. The down fall of the 2000 and 2001 XJ's though is there pos cylinder heads tend to warp leaving you to over heat.. usually between 100-150k from what I have noticed. So it's a toss up on what ya want to have.. When I bought my 01 I decided to take the guarenteed upgraded axle vs the possibility of my cylinder head going.. So My recomendation is to seriously consider the 2000/no abs and the 2001's...

Ive got a 97se. Love it to death. Have no power locks or windows. Also a 5 speed I had great gas before I lifted it and what not. Before the lift and tires I was getting about 400 miles per tank with 215/75/15 tires on it. Also has no tac in it either
