Soo i want a little bit more low end take off power.... wanting to re gear the jeep grand cherokee 5.2 dana 44a rear dana 30 front Wanting 4.10 4.56 maybe 4.88 what do you guys think for 33s

I don't think you have a 44a...unless it's been swapped in?

If you do, i'd opt to ditch it in favor of a stronger rear axle. I'd also consider 4:88's if your in the mountains.. something to think about.

4.56, just looked into this myself

4.88 if you tow a lot, or as stated earlier if in the mountains

I know of quite a few people who have grands that came with 44's in the rear. So he very well may have one. And in which case the only other axle that was offered was the 35(and possibly an 8.25) both of which are weaker than a 44, so why would he swap out the 44

Edit: I forgot that the 44's were aluminum on grands. That is probably the reason to swap out

93-95 V8 ZJ's came with a D35.. like I said, if he has a 44a then it was swapped in from a 96-98.

8.25 was never available in a ZJ.
