I picked up a Yj for a friend of mine that wanted to get into Jeeps. We already knew when we bought it, but some idiot PO had Welded the rear wheels on!...Seems they thought that would be easier than replacing the wheel studs they broke off...

When I bought my $500 '88 the PO had the rear seats folded down with a bunch of crap laying on top. When she delivered it to my house I had to help her get all the crap out in two trash bags as she took it home with her. Hoarder! But anyway, I start ripping out the carpet because it smelled like elephant poop and i get to the rear seats (which are still folded down. As I fold em up I saw something and said to myself "No way!"

There was a dead bird laying on the floor right behind the drivers side seat. Thats why the Jeep stunk. It had been in there for quite a while and was the cause of the wretched smell, not the elephant poop smelling carpet...

When I bought my 01 I found 2- 2 1/2 ton jack stands(brand new)
Upper and lower Ball joints both sides(new in the box) $18 in 2 dollar bills behind the glove box and a brand new RE track bar. That was a nice score!!!

The first one didn't have nothing but rusted out floor boards and the radio crapped out as soon as I went over the railroad tracks on the way home. Hit the brakes going around a turn and it pulled me into a ditch.. I just bought it and it was already trouble.LOL The one I have now I haven't found a whole lot of weird things but did find the reciepts to every repair they ever did on the jeep plus the original window sticker (way cool).

Well the PO thought itd be nice to just leave me with about a 2 inch layer of grime, dirt and other things that i cant describe on the interior of my 98, it took me 10 hours to completely clean it out, oh and not to mention the shot motor mount, ripped off sway bar mount and sway bar, steering stabilizer ripped off, uca ripped off on passenger side and lca's were ripped off and welded back on as well as the driver side sway bar link and the mounts for the coils and shocks are collapsing inward due to rust and the fact that he tried to show off his mad awsome driving skills and peg a curb with the front axle and the fact that it hasnt had its oil changed in 13,000 miles. Turns out HP D30's with 3.07 gears are a rarity around where i live.

I agree. What an idiot.

Well, the PO of mine failed to mention a pin hole in the radiator, and a faulty part for the engine cooling system. Oh well, fixed now.
