Found Home theater wiring all over this thing, the viper alarm was a total hack job. this caused the high beam inop, dashclock that would work only with the headlights on, dash illumination/dimmer inop, i guess a thief had cut the radio wiring
, (still trying to figure this out btw... HELP?). vaccuum hose leaks for the a/c selection head unit, front axle vaccuum actuator inop, rear pinion is toast, a/c compressor inop. cancer under the rear seat, i can go on and on... one thing at a time.

Pulled of my door panels to remove my door speaker and found hyperemic needles, so I pulled all the interior panels and found three more, a few grams of meth, a bag of marijuana and a Billy Idols greatest hits CD

Don't own a jeep yet, but I bout a 1988 Accord in 1997 with the following:
1: Starter was seized and engaged to the fly wheel. Owner thought motor was blown, 1 used starter later I had a working car for $250 + 35 for a used starter!
2: Spare tires was a 5 lug, car was a 4 lug = fail. Finding this out a 2 am 40 miles from home with no phone = pissed!
3: Sweet gas can in trunk prefilled with 5 gallons! Fail in that it was diesel.
4: Bag under center console filled with the best weed I have ever had! (Have not smoked in almost 12 years.)
5: Broken exhaust that was fixed with home duct metal and like 12 hose clamps.
6: And the best thing of was A loaded 9mm Glock! Stolen of coarse. Jammed under the rear seat. Cops where called to turn it over. Guy I bout car from claimed he know nothing of the gun. Yeah right.

RIGHT!? You probably could have turned it in but it would have been a PITA. But, imagine that... with our justice system, it'd probably get pinned on you.

cocaine razor with resadue.
a motor that apparently still had the factory oil in it. almost twisted off the oil pan nut because it had the factory seal on it.
a suspention thats so bad i cant drive over a gnat without it trying to tip.
bent frame that was hidden behind the twisted bumper.
candy from her kids somehow under the backseat.
brand new head gasket that came withit when i bought it (bad omen)
oil soaked, and god only knows what else soaked front end. (the whole under the front is atleast a 1in of crud on everything)
apparently 15 different reports on carfax about my jeep.
the only good is that it runs/ran and it was pre-wired for amps and subs.

Wow, I feel very lucky.
96 XJ in pretty much as new condition so far..... Well, maybe not since the T/case isn't particularly sharp at changing out of Part Time, but otherwise it all works perfectly.
Well it did, I broke the electric antenna when trying to oil it....
First service is coming up this weekend, I've no idea what we're going to find

The UJs were so worn the mechanic gave me a long lecture on how he didn't want me to leave before replacing them. He also wanted £150 a side because they "needed to go to a differential specialist". I got em done for £100 all in from an ex chrysler indie garage.
Leaking exhaust manifold (putty for the win)
Dead Battery - when I replaced it I couldn't work out why the wires were so short until I realised the old one was back to front and the clamp was also in wrong.
The side steps/rocker guards were hanging off on one side.
The catalyst is rattling like crazy at idle. Seems there was a recall on the 96 for this issue but no one bothered taking this Jeep in for a free cat

The radiator was so old, it died under it's own weight when I bounced up a few ruts. Literally nothing else was damaged, not even the mounts - the rad just crumbled.
All fixed now (apart from the cat) . Just waiting on a heater control valve and it should be 100%.
