I voted 35s. you have a ton of lift for even 33s lol. It will look better with 35s and you mentioned you're regearing anyway. I will be re-gearing after i get some 33s myself im going from 3.55 to 4.56

I downgraded from 33's to 32's on mine. The acceleration is much better and the engine works a hell of a lot less to get up to speed. But I'm only running a 4 inch lift so I didn't really have anywhere else to go like you do.

 

It's 6' 4" from ground to roof. Taking into account worn tires.


So I landed up getting some used 35 BFG M/T's from a friend, there pretty worn down. There all around 4/32nds. But hey they were free and will give me a little idea of how they ride. I like them so far even though there worn down to the point of replacing they did awesome on the drive home from work in the snow storm were having here in Colorado. I will be putting in an order for two tomorrow and get another two in a couple weeks. Wish I had put these bad boys on my yota when I had it instead of the A/T's.






I'm trying to get a solid plan on the rear axle. I like the idea of using the ford 8.8 out of an explorer so I can get disc brakes, but a friend has a chrysler 8.25 that he would give to me for a case of beer, 8.8's are going for around 75-100 bucks from what I've seen. Either way I've done some reading and agree with you all that I will have to gear to 4.56. Whats your opinions on the Chrysler 8.25 vs ford 8.8 rear end?

 

I run an 8.8 with 4.56 it's a sweet axle. 8.25 can handle 35's with some beefing. Each has benefits I prefer to build an 8.8 because it forces you to weld on better leaf perches and gives you a perfect pinion angle without shims, which will be good at your height. 7 out of 10 times people will just do what's cheapest for them.

 

i would say if you have a dana 35 right now get the 8.25 and then buy the 8.8 and build it
