So I was out wheeling with a buddy with a wrangler and he had lockers on his jeep lunchbox lockers he said. An I then noticed how much easier some holes and hills were alot easier for him to get through and over so I've decided to go with a spartan locker in the rear and either a ARB air lock in the front or a eaton elocker.

Electric lockers are easier to wire and they work as well as the ARB and may be a lkittle cheaper. The rear is your choice, as most name brand lockers work pretty well.

You dont think locking the rear would make that big of a difference? My jeep was original a DD but now I recently bought my wife a dodge dakota so I drive her car now so projects will be started on my XJ. I recently put on a 4.5 but now that its not a DD i wanna get it up to 5.5 or 6.5 but i guess thats a topic for another thread. lol

Well if you use it to go wheeling more than the road then yeah if you have to money to spend then get a rear locker, I was just thinking about price, if it was a DD, and how often it was taken off road

Oh no another locker opinion thread. Just go with front and rear lockers. Don't get a lunch box locker or weld the diff. Any other locker will do.
You can get both locked with lunchboxes for cheaper than you can get one locked with a selectable.

A lunchbox in the front will get you almost anywhere. I run a spartan in the front. I am going to throw cutting brakes or a selectable locker in the rear. I daily drive so I don't want the rear locked all the time.

Im for lunchboxs. I run an Aussie in front and will be swapping in a rear powertrax no slip in the next few months. They say "lunchbox" lockers arent as strong as "full" lockers, they dont work as good and there noisy. In my opinion lunchbox lockers ratchet before they break, they dont seem to break axles as often, because they ratchet, there cheaper to buy, and easy to install. Vs a $1000+ per axle set up like ARB. ARBs are awesome but Im happy with my $200 locker

Selectables are bad ***. I have one up front and want to upgrade my rear with one as well. Lunchboxes are great but once you got selectable...
