Default Oil sensor connector

I have a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Classic. The oil Sensor connector is leaking. I can follow the one wire to a hub of wires. Do I dig into that? Is that where it connects?

You shouldn't need to dig into the wiring. Replace the leaking sensor and clean the connector.

Default oil sending unit connector

I have only one wire. Does that wire come out of the connector? I have tried to carefully pull it out and it will not come out. All the replacement parts show the wire attached. I have followed the wire to the other end and it is in a hub of other wires. I really do not want to dig into that.

Then don't!!! Why are you so fixated on the bunch of wires?!?! The sensor comes off, simple as that...

Have you removed the connector from the sensor? You shouldn't have to remove the wire from the connector. Just clean it with some brake cleaner.

The oil pressure sender is threaded in. There is a connector that clips onto it to send the signal out. This connector can be removed. Do not dig into any wiring harness.

Correct. It is a sending unit, not a "sensor". Oil generally doesn't leak from wiring harnesses. They generally emit smoke.......

I have seen a couple harnesses leaking oil. Leaking power steering pressure switch pushed fluid all the way to the PCM.

Really? Maybe unicorn farts were pushing the oil?

lol. Not saying that is the case here. Not enough oil pressure, but it does happen.

Ok. That makes sense. I have had to put in power steering fluid. I replaced the oil sending unit. Where is the power steering pressure switch? Or is the hose maybe leaking?

You likely have a leaking hose. What I mentioned above is very rare.
