My dentless XJ...
is now dented.
I didn't have too good of a day. I woke up friday morning to go to school, fired the jeep up and took off. i was going down my street with a worn out master cylinder, and it finally gave up the dust. I was cruising 40mph downhill, then my brakes went straight to the floor. There was a sharp left hand turn at the bottom of the hill, and i had no brakes to make the turn. I went to take the corner, the jeeps rear rend slid out, i was sliding all over the street, then i ran into a ditch and took out 40ft of a barbed wire fence.
MY front left finder, grill, hood, marker lights, bumper, head lights, and front left tire was all beat up. My grill broke in the center and flew apart in 4 pieces, the fender is caved in, the hoods side is crushed in, my marker lights are in a million peices, and the bumper is done.
Not too big of a crash, but im only 16, and with no money to fix the problem, it sucks. looks like i got some body work to do.

I am going to start saving as much as I can from my xj when I take things off for occasions just like this. So far I have only removed fender flares and the bumper end caps.
Fender flares are in fine condition just the connecting plate things are useless.
When I finally get my bumpers built I will toss them in my storage building incase anyone from here needs them.
Terrible news about your XJ! Hope you can get it worked out!

No not right now, i will tomorrow though.
Yeah, same here. You never know when you need them. Usually, as soon as you throw something away, you will need it the next day.

so in that situation could you have used the e brake? or is that no good too because of master cylinder? if your james bond you could have down shifted and ebraked and at the last minute punch it and jump the ditch and fence, no damage! ok im just kidding man that way sucks. keep you chin up and help your jeep

E-brakes are mechanical using a cable. not the mastery cylinder FYI.
If i pulled the E-brake, i would have lost traction in the rear worse than i was before, then the wreak would have been much worse. yeah, i started fixign the fender and hood already, so its all good.
