Default 2 ford D44 front axles, one BUILT, one stock for XJ and a 9in

for the guys who freaked out.... Griffin GA

ones built with 5.13 gears, ARB air locker with new pump and all wiring and such, chromo inner and outer shafts, trussed, high steer, new warn hubs, traingulated 4 link setup and setup for hydro steering (not included), came from a 79 F250 8 lug ford... was built and removed from a XJ...

also have a stock 76 F150 5 lug D44 HP with weld on perches and still have the radius arms (ive got this one listed elsewhere yes)...
Om
Both axles $1000 firm... you cant build this axle for double this cost...

i also have a ford 9in i got stripped down and welded on Ruff Stuff simple axle swap to it for a XJ... i have 5.13 gears for it and a full spool... also have brackets to convert it to disc brakes... just needs everything put together... is a 31 spline 9in... only need a install kit and put it together... kind would like to sell it with the 79 axle but i will sell it by itself ONLY after the 79 has sold... if the 79 axle sells then im out of jeeps and going to find another old chevy to restore... i miss having a muscle car bad... ill just buy a cherokee later thats already done...

Got any pics of the built front? Could you swap the 8 lug outers for the 5 lug stuff to match the 9" rear? Will the front bolt in to factory setup?

Jeepnga73@comcast.net

Thanks, Matt

there are pics in my XJ build thread yep! ill try and copy them over to here so everyone doesnt have to keep looking for them... there on the last page or the one just before it... anyways from what ive read yes the knuckles will swap over... thats what i was planning... or i was going to convert the 9in over to 8 lug... which may be better... i also have a set of H1 2 piece steel wheels that i was gonna build for double beadlocks like you see on pirate alot... has new 37's on them... the fronts springs are setup right yes... but youll have to build arms and mounts to the unibody... the last guy ran the upper arms to the stock lower mount spots and just welded a plate there with tabs and it works fine for him... his rig was sick too... the lower control arms were mounted closer to the cross memeber where he welded about 8in by 4in steel plate and put tabs there also... i have abunch of brackets i bought and ordered from ballistic fab and ruff stuff so i could do it... could work something out with them as well... should give me a call man... 678-588-6661... thanks!

hmmm id be interested in that front as well to do with my rear 44. for changing the knuckles would that be welding new ones on or just bolting different ones on. I cant think shipping would be over couple hundred considering im getting 2 bumpers otk steering and gas skid plate from jcr for 500 up here to Canada

replied to your PM as well but the knuckles from what ive read (and not experianced myself) are a bolt in swap... i know the Warn lock in hubs are the same part numbers as well... if i shipped up there most of the time ive seen axles being shipped around down here for $150 freight on a crate... so i would think about $200 or so up there yeah...
