I was wondering if anyone can recommend a nice all around tire. That's good on the road as well as off the road in the mud. I can't switch back and forth between my sets, so I have to go down to one set. I was looking at these - http://www.quadratec.com/products/92606_2XX_PG.htm

I love my duratracs. They arent gumbo mudders by any means, but they are one of the most aggressive "AT" tire on the market. I can creep across soft sand, but you have to keep them spinning pretty good to clear thick mud. Either way i love them. I spend about 75% of my time on-road amd 25% off. Mainly soft sugar sand on power lines and some thick dark mud. I dont really like clay that much.

Is a MT the best choice for off roading, or is a hybrid tire about the same? I would assume a hybrid is good, but not as good as a tire made for mudding.

I have kumho Road Venture MT's on mine, They're a bit different than most MT's as they're fairly quiet, wear slow, and do quite well driven on the street every day, and in the snow or mud, they've never let me down.

Truxus mt-r it has great ice / snow rating for a MTR and its relativly quiet and handles nice. I greatly enjoy them and wish I could afford them in 38.5 - 40''

lol, he's asking about an all around tire.... sounds like he wants something that'll last 40-60k driving on the street and not make too much noise while still performing well offroad. There's only a couple M/T's that do that well on pavement, other than that, It's going to end up being an A/T

agree if you dd you rig 75% of the time and go wheeling the other 25% you should go with an at tire. just make sure you get a tire with 3 ply sides, its well worth it

That was my point with the kumho's, they're an MT but the ply and the tight center lugs make them perform on the road like an AT. They're quiet, look mean, I've got 20-30k on mine and they're not even half done yet. Mine is driven every day. It's the only vehicle we own besides my bike. They are a little noisier now than they when I got them, but when I got them, you couldn't hear them at all.

Cooper STT's or Wrangler Duratrac's. Best tires being produced if you want to drive on a road on a regular basis, but have the same capability as most M/T's offroad.

So I'm down to the Cepeks I posted in my first post, the Duratracs, and maybe the Road Venture MTs.
I've never bought tires online. Which sites are the best to use? Any ones to avoid?
