Mods that you wouldn't do again.
Alright I just got through installing one grand cherokee lca on my xj.
I would NOT do this mod.
One they don't fit right. You have to cut the one sleeve down to fit.
Then when you put them up there you realize the top of the new control arm is binding on the frame. So you need to cut 1.4 inch off the top.
Once you do this can bolt them up only to find you just lost 2in of down travel because of the height of the new control arms.
Horrible mod, just buy aftermarket lca's. I tried to save a buck and ended up screwing myself.
Obviously whoever came up with this mod never removed their swaybars.

I have not completed many mods. So far I pulled my carpet in the cargo area and bedlined it. Great for hunting as blood and muddy boots can go back there with no worries. Road noise is not bad if on paved roads but come to dirt roads and rain on anything its loud as crap. Keep this in mind.

Moog variable rate coil springs.
When I installed my 2" BB, I also bought all new springs because my leaf packs were sagging badly. I went with OEM leaf springs but got Moog variable rate coils because I got such a good deal on them. They ride ok and are the exact same length as the OEM springs while uncompressed but unless I'm mistaken, they actually sit a little lower than OEM with the weight of the XJ on them. The coils are thicker than OEM and one end is more tightly wound, which would lead you to believe they'd be stiffer than stock springs. Sitting on level ground, the top half (tighter coiled end) appears to be almost completely compressed (hardly any space between the coils) while the bottom half looks like you'd expect a stock spring to look.
I think I would have been better off going with all OEM springs.

Where do you lose 2"s of down travel because of the WJ arms?
Did you read any of the write-ups on installing them? It's extremely clear what needs to be done to install them. Yes, you have to clearance a few things to make them work. To do it correctly you have to cut down the width of BOTH sleeves and clearance the top corner of the frame side. It's not difficult and if you don't half *** it you won't lose any travel.
If it's hitting on the LCA mount it'd take 10 minutes to clearance the damn thing so you'll get your precious/useless down travel back.
Then again, I probably don't notice how horrible they are because I don't have 47" of suspension travel like you do.

not necessarily that i regret the mod. just would have done it different. i did the doorless mod. and instead of cutting the pin i cut the bottom of the hinge that attaches to the door. about a 1/2 of sag at the locking mech and a mega-***** to get back on. using 3" bolts with lock nuts.

The mod is not worth doing in my opinion.
Its obvious you have either never done the mod, or were too busy dreaming about your long arms to notice the travel you loose from the mod.
For a hundred bucks you can just buy aftermarket ones.
i can make them work, that is not the issue. Its that it is not worth the trouble.
