I regret not researching and learning more when I first got my XJ. It had an oil leak when I first got it and was told it was the rear main. Bit the bullet and let the mechanic change it out. After he finished and took it for a test drive, "It still leaks... I have no idea what it could be" he said ..... Freakin oil filter adapter was leaking. Really glad I spent $500 to get the rear main changed.

shackle relocation brackets. they work right and do their job
but they sit wayy too tall

now my 8.8 pinion angle will be off when I lower it. and my shocks will have like 1" of uptravel so I'll need new ones

if anyone wants some liquid iron shackle boxes I'll probably sell them in a couple months for $100

Those JKS are only 1" shackles. Can't get much closer to stock & keep from hitting when the shackles swing backwards. I ran them for years & never had a problem with them being too long.

you have to grind down the bushings to make them fit. so you'll need new bushings

Not sure yet. I don't have a gas tank right now / spare tire / tools in it yet. Will know in a month or so. I can also move the shackle up 1 hole to drop it an inch

drops it an inch? that would be nice. I tried the first hole and my shackles hit the brackets too badly

#1- 15x10 wheels. Anyone who says you can mount 31 inch tires on 15X10 wheels is an idiot. Can you? Yes. Should you? **** no. They were just so cheap... and shiny too!
My decent tires wore very quickly... Oh well live and learn.

#2- Buying extended shackles... I have too much rake and the added height has caused expensive driveline problems.

I just didnt want to pay so much for new oem shackles....
Oh well I get added lift and now Im going to install an sye and extended driveshaft.

This thread should be at the top of the forum like a sticky or something! So many posts could be eliminated with people reading this first! Once again thank you all for your complaints or regrets rather. All of this information is absolutely irreplaceable before and during a build
