Default Maybe a dumb question.

Is it normal for the rear diff cover to be warm to the touch? Just changed the oil.

how long did u drive it for to make it hot and did u hear a whining noise at all drivin it?

Drove it for at least 20 minutes no whining noise.

what kind of oil u put in it? i put lucas and so do many of my friends and they never have problems like that

when u drained it did u look at the gears in it to see if it was warn out?,if it looks fine,try a synthetic oil like lucas 75 80,but i wouldnt reall worry about it untill u can notice a difference in the ride

Gears are A+. So your saying your diff doesn't get hot with all that friction?

it get a lil warm after 30 45 min drive but never hot,but lucas helps keep the temp down,that stuff works miracles,i put it in everythin

yea mine does get worm but no need to pull you hand away hot. of course last i touched it, it was the summer so anything is going to be hot

Any temp below 140F is fine for most lubricants.
