What lockers are the best bang for your buck? Going on a 01 xj with a 3 inch lift , 31's and Dana 30(I think)

They are auto lockers and I have run Aussie and Spartan without issue, can't say the same for my Lockrights. Lunchbox lockers replace the spider gears in an open carrier. They tend to be a little noisy but you get used to it. And they are half the price of a full case locker at around 250 bucks.

OK Thanks, so my main question is, are they always locked up in 2wd and 4wd, or ate they unlocked in 2wd? will they effect the steering in normal road commuting conditions? And no I'm not in a snowy area

Lunchbox lockers are automatic and always engaged, but it won't matter if you're in 2wd. The front axle will be disconnected from the rest of the drivetrain at the t-case.

My differential case says 3.55 ,rev k is rear

Yes, all are D30 in the front. All were high pinion till 00 and 01 when they went low pinion. For the rear it will either be Chrysler 8.25 or Dana 359crap) which is what you ended up with. Some early XJ with tow package have D44
