I could dignify that by showing my facebook and pictures and birth certificate and timestamping things but more on topic, you can watch the new Cherokee on the Rubicon trail, it surprised me so much I just had to drive one and see how it feels. I'm not working for Jeep nor am I a fanboy, I sat on a couch hating on it just like everyone else did. But then I researched and looked into it and there are more pros to this car than cons when comparing to an Xj.

Anyways, on topic (hating the KL), the new 9speed transmission is the only thing that will have to prove its longevity to me. Its great for crawling but it's new and that scares me.

Also being called a ******* by page 4 is a new record for me. Sorry I have disposable income, last I checked that was what most people worked for every day.

Okay, fair enough... another question that I'm legitimately curious about:

What made you decide to go with a KL, which has an unproven drivetrain, complex electronics, and such... over a JK, or TJ? A JK has a decent interior, and a huge aftermarket. You could have easily bought a used one and done pretty much whatever you wanted to it for under $40k. Even more so with a TJ, which has an extremely proven drivetrain (albeit a bit less of an interior and 2 door) and an even bigger aftermarket.

It's not about disposable income, that is being ignorant. The basis of pro and con have been told and despite you thinking its got more pro's it doesn't. Heck one guy showed you can get similar priced vehicles(one being a wrangler) that are better than the kl.

C'mon pup where is your rebuttal, if none go find a KY forum, or start one. Even better you have the opportunity to get rich making parts for the KY. By the way is your name Richard?

Don't do that. I'll chase you out of TGO, too.

Again, that shows that your intentions aren't in line with the majority of the members on this site. It's stupid to attack you for liking something different, but I have no problem telling you you're wrong about what you assume we want. You seem to have the same attitude as JK Wrangler drivers. They assume every other Jeep driver is jealous of their income when the truth is we don't want it.
There are reasons to choose an XJ, and there is a market for the KL. The fact that you want something different from your vehicle doesn't make you better or worse than us. Your assumption that we're all jealous of your income makes you a douche.
Frankly, though, I'd be more susprised if this isn't a senior member or a prior ban who made an account to have some fun.

Congrats on the KL purchase, Sure people are pissed about the ifs and irs ect........ But they fail to realize the XJ did the same thing back in 84. Anyone remember the Original Cherokee I do and it had D44 front D44/Amc20 rear, a gear driven t case. V8 or 4.2l , leaf springs And wait for it ....... A FRAME !!!! Time change people are now sissies so they need a plush car like ride. I wouldn't mind a trail hawk for a DD for my wife something that I can take on mild wheeling trips. And still get 30mpg another note is in 2002 the KJ liberty came out it was only dubbed liberty in America it was the cherokee everywhere else I think before everyone *****es they better look at their XJ's and compare them to a Real Cherokee

That sounds great, but it isn't the same. The XJ created a new style of vehicle and AMC invented the mid-size SUV with its release. The KL, as has been mentioned in this thread, doesn't further anything. It doesn't make a difference in automotive history, and it doesn't have a real place in the Jeep lineup due to pricing vs capability vs comfort. At best, it's a testing platform for the new 4WD system and trans. There are better options out there unless you're one of the few buying it for the styling.
Additionally, the SJ Cherokee was replaced with the XJ while the FSJ Wagoneer continued production for nearly a decade.

Technically not correct as the S-10 Blazer came out a full year before the Jeep. However they didn't have a four door until 1991, but as far as Mid-size (they were actually classified as compact) SUVs...Chevy was first. In fact, Jeep originally was only going to do a 2 door, but Chevy's introduction is why the 4 door was added. That is why they are so tight (short) for a four door. They didn't have time to re-engineer a longer chassis/body (like GM did for the four door).
