Saw this commercial the other day, and thought "WTF is this about?" then saw the "jeep" at the end...WTH does all these idiots doing stupid mundane everyday crap have to do with selling a car? So, 2 for 2, Jeep makers....crappy car, crappy marketing.....way to go

LOL'd @ Token...and agreed with your statement. Why I originally said WTF when I first saw it. What the hell does any of that crap have to do with their product? Prevalent in a lot of marketing today, though. I don't get it.

Well most direct-to-consumer marketing isn't about the product directly, and never has been. It's about selling a feeling associated with the product. Though it's a tad blatant in this ad lol. Certainly a bit beyond, say, Brylcreem or Murray's. Only in business-land and in specialized markets are products really pushed on technical merits alone.
