Default i need everyones help.

Okay so Im in a confused state. I have been paying attention to all of the noises and such ever since replacing my alternator. I've noticed a whining noise when I turn. But I check my power steering fluid and its full. What's wrong? is this normal for older XJs?

Empty the old fluid from the pump and dump a quart of Lucas P/S fix and it should go away.

It could be. I went by the one-inch-give rule. Only because we did.t have the right tool to correctly tighten it after replacing the alternator.

I thought it was 1/2" of deflection on the serp belt.
