Default hood mount hi lift

Always see it on wranglers. Why not XJs

Anyone have there hi lift mounted on the hood???

See it on theirs because the hood mounting bolts are on top.
I would never trust any mount enough to keep it from killing me or someone else in an accident

No different than mounting it to a roof rack or bumper....

those mounts on wranglers bolt on to the hood hinges so the jack is mounted nice and sturdy. Its a cheap and easy solution for carrying a lift jack, but on an xj you would have to fab something to get that look thats why you dont see it on xj's.

If you thought the hood was heavy before, put a jack on it. I have my Hi-lift under the back seat.

I don't carry mine in any of those locations... and you can make a stronger mount on bumpers or roof racks

I have been tossing ideas around. One day, I plan to build some bumpers and was considering concealing the hi-lift and mounting it under the skin of the bumper.
