The comfort/power switch, only changes the trans. shift points slightly.

We had a 94 xj at work before it went off to the auction. That was the fastest XJ I've ever driven! It really had some power and it was bone stock, sold for $1400 at the auction.

My 98 is damn fast. If I'm going like 25-30 mph & tromp the stupid pedal all the way, I can stop my passengers in mid sentence.

It accelerates like a strong V8!

I'm 47 now, but this thing makes me want to drive like I was 22 years old.

Where might that trans button be located at?

Not all XJ's have the tranny switch.

It was found that using the comfort setting slows down the shifts and causes excess heat and wear on the tranny so in the very early 90's they simply hardwired the TCU in the Power mode and got rid of the switch.

for some reason, those mid 90s 4.0 were badass. more so then any of the others. our 95 would light the tires up like nothing at a stop light and my wife always used to stomp the asian car kids that wanted to race from light to light

I don't know how you didn't get on it the first time you drove it. I almost wrecked mine pulling out of the dealer lol. In my defense, they had enough goo on the tires for 4 trucks.

LOL

Not gonna say my XJ is a rocket, but she moves along pretty good for 194k miles, IMO. I'm fairly certain I'm the fastest 4-wheel vehicle at work up to about 35 mph.
