Has anyone here tried an HHO (Hydrogen) generator to increase your gas mileage? I know a guy who recently installed one on his vehicle and claims it improved his mileage by 35%. I had never heard of such a thing...

I've seen a thread on here about it. Don't remember much. Maybe run a search.

We built one in college as an experiment and the guy still uses it 4 years down the road. How it works is by introducing hydrogen into the intake, the O2 sensor will detect the extra "fuel" and have the ECU lean the mixture. In short you end up using less gasoline cause its burning hydrogen with it.

you need to remember this though... some work while others don't. I have seen a hydrogen generator system fail and catch the car on fire... not a pretty sight and the guys insurance wouldn't cover it.

We experimented with inert chemicals so no harm done. Only downside is only a 15-20% hydrogen solution.

I doubt it will work long and safely. The airport here years ago tried running lng on all there trucks it was cheaper to run then gas but in the long run it cost more in the up keep on the trucks so they quit using it.

The other downside to using the hydrogen setup is sludge builds in the main tank and you have to clean the plates and tank at least every two weeks.
