Help with purchase.. extremely low miles :(
hey guys, noob lurker here.. Im supposed to go sign some papers on a 2006 jeep grand cherokee, 3.7 V6 no 4x4 ( unfortunately ) and it's in 100% perfect condition, one tine scratch on the read end. It belonged to an older man who just traded up to a 2012 ( the dealership actually got him to come talk to him and my fiance ) could they of been lying, sure.. but either way it was nice to see. anyways, the jeep has less than 20k miles.. yup that's right, an 06 with less than 20k miles.. Im paying 15.5k for it.. and i wanted to be sure i was getting a decent price. Tires are brand spankin new, and i had my own mechanic take a look at it, he wanted to buy it when he saw the miles and condition.
Now, we know it's almost a 7 year old car, but with 19k miles.. is it worth it, should i invest such a high number into a 7 year old car..
thoughts, suggestions please. Oh, and if it helps, im in south texas.

Kbb shows 14500. Nada shows 16200. Dealership wanted 1599 I got em to 15500.
No its not a 4x4 but its a daily driver . Got a kid on the way and had to trade in my eclipse.
From what I've red. Its still a decent SUV and its safe

Kelley Blue Book says don't pay a penny more than $14,425 for a perfect condition Grand Cherokee as you described. That's the maximum. So you have some talking down to do.
And agree with above poster – why buy what's not 4x4? And why Grand Cherokee? lol

3.7 V6, blah!
Not enough power for those big grands even without 4x4. And a jeep without 4 wheel drive? Nah. No good.
Even at 20k miles I don't think its a good investment.
Besides those WKs look like mini vans.

What year eclipse? If It was 2nd gen then sucks you had to give it up, if you are looking for a jeep jeep to lift it and offroad it then I would say look for something different, if you need a vehicle to drive and not do all the fun jeep stuff with then I would say look for a new mpg saver, if you love grands and this specific year type then get what you want

I gotta agree with thw under 12k good deal, otherwise no. Think of resale, and rember south texas is getting a ton of flood vehicles. Check car fax, who cares what the old man siad. Also, older cars that sit alot tend to dry out gaskets and seals. As soon as yall start daily driving it a world of issues can open up.
