Default Help with paint ideas!

Ok guys, getting ready to start prepping my '92 for paint. Need some input!

I hate "Gunmetal Grey", its frikin boring. I really didnt want to have to redo the doorjambs though, so i was originally gonna just go with a bright silver, ala '01ish XJ.

However, I'm not 100% sold on this idea yet. So IF i overcome my laziness in regards to the doorjambs...

I've always dug the idea of a 5spd XJ in bright white. So that's an option. But my last XJ was white.

Also kinda REALLY liking the idea of going with '18 Wrangler color called "Gobi".

If i go silver or white, trim(bumpers/flares) will likely be in black.

With Gobi, trim will either be black, or tan bedliner.

Input? Other ideas?

Fire away!

Audi Nardo Grey would look amazing and is very close to the same color you currently have.

If you want to change it up (and paint the jambs), I think Atlantis Blue is one of my favorite colors ever.
Atlantis Blue Metallic, BMW color code 399

Desert tan would be cool, but for some reason I am not a fan of flat paint jobs (except the Icon flat titanium grey). I like the Jeep and Toyota desert tans that are pastel but still with a gloss clearcoat.
Also a darker orange copper would look cool (more coppery/dark orange than the Jeep Amber Fire paint)

If I was going to paint a car I would do something that is going to turn heads, but honestly - color preference is so subjective.

Well, you already know what I am going to say... White on black! Hard to go wrong.

I’m going to be doing mine as well sometime soon. I’ve already committed to doing the jambs I just don’t know if I want to use a tough paint like the bed liner stuff (I don’t like the texture look). But I know I’m either going to do a green or a dark burnt orange.

I’m definitely going to be following along with yours because I’ve never painted a car before so I need all the tips I can get lol

Thanks for the input guys! Yes yes, lol, i figured youd vote for white.

Damn waffles, that Atlantis Blue is gorgeous. Maybe for the next foxbody i build, i could see a slammed LX in that color, hell yeah.

LOL, i paint cars, and you're welcome to follow my lead... but im gonna do this one the way i did my YJ. One panel at a time. Lot of bodywork needed on this one. So... Fix a panel, paint it, move on to the next one.

Not something I'd recommend to most people, lol.

Lol I know the price is more than I’m willing to pay that’s why I’m going to tackle it on my own.

Single stage & White then.
I am doing a single stage paint on my Cherokee. Partly because of desert pin striping when off road is easier to touch up, and I am also doing the panel one at a time too.
White and black, or red and black is just classic Jeep.

Oh it'll definitely be single stage, for exactly that reason.

White... maybe. Shooting one panel at a time in any other color isnt something i recommend to most people, because the car will end up looking like a patchwork quilt, lol. But thankfully ive got a pretty good eye for mixing.

Due to "owner error" i had to respray 3 panels on this one a year after the paintjob.

Bright orange pearl, metallic silver stripes... that was fun, lol.

I would be torn between Calypso Green and Atlantis Blue on a Foxbody

One of my other favorite colors. Gorgeous notchback with those CCW's

EDIT:
I also love the Jeep Moss Green Pearlcoat - one of my favorite greens. That and British Racing Green (the old pastel color vs the newer metallic one)

The Moss Green Pearlcoat is awesome - had it on a 96. It's still my favorite Jeep Colour.
If you're going BRG you might was to look at Epsom Green.

It looks good on larger vehicles IMO.
There are some decent photos in this ad: https://www.seymourpope.com/used-veh...ge-Rover-U110/

having seen a lot of your work on pictures you’ve shared on here I’m curious if you’d be interested in doing the body work and paint on a 72 bronco ? I don’t know where you’re located but would be willing to travel at some point this is nothing soon it is a long term project .
