Got a New Jeep !!
I just got me a 94 Jeep Cherokee sport, used to belong to the Nye County NV Sheriff's dept (long ago) and it still has the stars on the doors, the spotlight in the drivers windshield post, auto on the column, 4.oL, 3" lift, roof rack, 31 x 10.50's and I'm not sure what else yet. I don't suppose you can do a VIN lookup on a Jeep like you can with a Ford huh? Oh well I'll have to see what else I find. I would think that the Police would spec heavy duty cooling system at least?

No xjs had a column shifter so I'm assuming that you meant center console. That's where they all are. I don't believe they had a heavy duty cooling option for that year. 97+ you can tap off the ecu for a high idle switch...
Go to jeep.com and request a build sheet. You'll get all the info on what your jeep was built with. Vin #'s are on every vehicle not just fords...

Police Package
Hey Jersy, It IS on the column, I am told they did it that way so they can put their computer and communication stuff in the console. Means I have plenty of cupholder space. Haven't seen anything about a high idle switch yet. But then I just got it this evening!

Enter your vin, tell them you're looking for the build sheet.. they might email you back and ask for the current mileage of the jeep, so you might put that in the original message... they'll send you an email back with the build sheet.

The high idle switch was only an option for 97+...
You can easily tap into the ecu and make a high idle switch on any 97+ xj. I just forget what pin it is. Brings you up to 1k rpm.

To speed up the operation of your cooling system and generate more amps. If you ever getting hot at a stop light or wheeling if you put the Jeep in neutral and keep the gas steady at 1k you'll see it cool down

Build Sheet
Hey TSSGuy123, thanks for the link foe the VIN search. Chrysler sent me the full build sheet and it has the Police Pkg, and Super heavy duty EVERYTHING! It does have the High Idle switch but it doesn't do anything. It has the 4.0L, AW4 4-speed tranny w/ lock-up torque converter, dana M30/181MM front axle, 35C/194MM Rear Axle 3.55 Ratio. It says 4-wheel anti-lock brakes, but they are Drums all around.

Console & Paint
With the Jeep being ALL White except the lower 8 inches, and the Stars (which have to go cause I don't like unecessary attention, especially from Buford T. Justice ) So anyway, I am open to suggestions for paint design Ideas, I am wanting something that I can easily spray over the white to accent the upper portion but not completely cover the white.
I am also looking for ideas on building a center console. Since I have the shifter on the column I have plenty of room to work down there. I am planning to remove the entire console and build a new one that comes from the dash to the rear seat area and incorporates the 4wd shifter and the e-brake. the rest being big cup-holders, huge cargo storage and various cubbies. Any ideas or photos or links to galleries?
