Watched the video. That guy has all the personality of a plate of mashed potatoes. Without gravy.
I laughed at the rear wheel coming way off the ground when the front wheel took whopping 18 inch bump.

Renegade doesn't look like a disaster. It's competing in a world market where American cars are seen as thirsty (your fuel prices are CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP), badly built and prone to rust. Jeep tend to escape that a little bit because they are seen as fun, and a bit different but that isn't enough to push Audi or BMW off aspiring driveways in suburbia. Jeep are wise to go for the second car market, whether you hate the "Soccer Mum" image or not, it's a good place to build reputation.
I'm not looking to compare with British manufacturers because they all went bust.
Whether Renegade will be able to complete with a Range Rover Evoque, or an X3 I don't know. Probably not. It'll be more likely to go after the Nissan Quashqaui and Juke which are selling like mad. This isn't a bad thing, they're probably better off selling lots of units at the low/mid end than gambling on the top end.
