You just did, the Trailhawk Renegade comes with a one inch lift, red tow hooks and is trail rated.

Trailhawk on left vs. standard model.

The target demographic isn't us anymore. It's now hipsters who want to feel a bit masculine. All the nanny state garbage is killing car culture in general. People don't want cool cars anymore, they want rolling iPhones.

I saw the new Renegade yesterday. IMO it has more Cherokee like stylings then the KL. Fiat did a good job with the new 500 so I don't get why they are reusing names on vehiles with no resemblance.

I really like the new renegade *shrug*
They didn't ruin a model name for this one like with the Cherokee, the renegade has always just been a trim level for their cars.

I don't think jeep is dead at all, just maybe the jeep that the people on a forum like this want is dead. Fiat is catering to the people that are buying their cars new, which right now is not really the same type of people that buy XJs. I think they'll sell tons of those new cars that get a lot of hate, in fact, I've seen probably 3 cherokees so far, and I was convinced I'd never see one.

Also, it seems like many of the new jeep models should have been marketed as fiats instead (the renegade looks an awful lot like the fiat panda but it is based on the 500 from what I read) but jeep is selling so many times more than fiat right now, that it wouldn't make sense for them to sell as a fiat, because they could sell so many more as a jeep

Edit: does anyone know if there will be a manual option?

Yeah they've been teasin us with the new bronco hope for years, yet it never hits the market??
I HATE the exploder's ( ugly IMO and the death of the bronco ) and all the 80's ford trucks, and 00' + as well.

Honestly if we could just get gas prices back to $1.00 a gallon

You are all insane and lagging about 20 years behind the auto industry. Go complain about Ford changing to aluminum bodies.

I don't like the dilution of the Jeep name either but they have to sell cars and stay profitable. $$$$$

I like the Renegade. If it comes with a little turbo diesel and is comfortable to drive, I will probably own one in a couple of years.

The car like Cherokee that resembled a Volvo in '84 seemed to do pretty good for Jeep.

Rumor has it, manual + 1.4L turbo, or 2.4L + 9 speed. I'd take the manual, but 1.4 seems so small to me.

I like the looks of the Renegade much more than the KL...might make a fun daily driver.

End of Jeep?

Of course not. People are still buying them.

some great points were made on both sides...

I dream that a carmaker like jeep could TRY to bring back an old school tough design and make a limited number and see how they sell... I think that people.. like myself.. would drool over a 2015 jeep cherokee that was as simple as my 96.. a few fresh updates but keep it simple...

solid axles... keep it old jeep style

i dunno... im going to miss these things in 20 years when they are rarities to find and hard to find parts for

The Cherokee is selling well and I happen to LOVE the looks of the new little Renegade.
No other small SUV has real off-road drivetrain/suspension or those looks (Renegade)
I bet it will be a hit.
