Well i have a basket with a tire in it on top of my xj and today I came home and was excited to get the garage spot so i bolt in there only to realize that the brick border around the garage took my basket tire clean off my jeep and onto the floor. Fits in the garage fine, without the tire up top.

I've been meaning to rip out what the previous owner mounted the basket on and weld on much stronger supports. The only thing damaged was the weak @$$ supports I was going to replace anyways. Got lucky I suppose...and a head start on my project. haha

I did this tonight by the way

Drivin down the road, felt a vibration. i just recently got new tires and thought that may be the reason..so going down the hwy at 60, i try and slip it into nuetral (auto) to see if it was in transfer or tires..and how i my hand sorta slipped and kicked in into R..i left about a 50 foot or more skid down the hwy. and did it with my brand friggin new tires

AW4 tranny? Yours is newer than mine, and mine has a protect to prevent that, if I throw it in R it makes a really loud clicking but doesn't grind the gears.
For the record, for upshifting (L-3-D and going from forward gears to Neutral, you don't have to push in the button)

I forgot to take it outta gear one morning when i went to go warm it up. wasnt sitting in my heep. just pulled my foot off the clutch, launched my heep into the back end of my 56' buick special and totalled the back end. Not a scratch on me heep!

sucks! but hey just a vehicle right? back to restoring my buick all over again!

That happened to me last year...thankfully I was only doing 30 and it was during the winter time...Ill never forget that sound of the transmission grinding though...stalled but thankfully started right up and acts fine, havent had a problem with it since.

My 98 did that to me once. I was in 1-2 to hold me back on a trail. When I hit the gravel road I shifted a hair too far into reverse. No clicking...plenty of whiplash! Luckily it was a gravel road so no harm done that I know of. I wonder what the criteria of the "safety" are. Could it be in the T-case? Mine was a 242.

carnage from the day at the spa
for some reason these parts dont like going under water- haha
offroading comes with a cost,
2- H4 upgrade headlights, 1 cracked, 1 half full water @ 50 bucks a pop
2 blue silver star bulbs @ 25 bucks a pop
1 heater blower @ 40 bucks
1 fan switch, parts jeep, - free
1 blower motor sensor @ 25 bucks
1 30 watt fuse- toasted nicely
so almost $250 for a day of offoading - not bad - haha
note to self- put in a over/ride switch to shut off daylight headlights,
and turn of A/C before going under- haha

Yeah it has the AW4. I think mines supposed to have that protect but it either didnt work or doesnt have it..either way it sucked...
