Why didnt they hook it to the bumper in the first place?
Someone once said: "Wheelin' without recovery gear, like having unprotected sex. You may end up regretting it!"

I still can't believe how easily that axle twisted free from the Jeep!

Umm....update....
Lastnight got sideways on a muddy road and went into a ditch, almost flipped over when it went.
part of the road was pave, so there was a BANG when I went in of the pumpkin, and lca mount impacting the cement.....besides some gouging/bent metal, it was fine.
Drove it home

driving to my friends for a bonfire at 12 oclock, there was frost on the ground and i was going 20-25 and i hit brakes and i didnt stop so i turned wheel hard right and still went straight and ended up taking out a shed, and my friend was in the back sitting on the floor cus the seats were down and there was tons of firewood in the trunk. only damage to the XJ is a small dent and mark from hitting the shed.

Dumbest thing I've done with my Jeep was let my girlfriend drive it...it now resides in a local junk yard

I managed to save mine after it she wrecked it.

Now with the lift and big tires she's afraid to drive it.

Ouch...
I let the GF at the time drive the XJ, the drive lasted two minutes before I told her to pull over..
She wasn't a very good driver to begin with and was to driving her little hyundia, and I feared for the XJs life after she managed to spin the 32" ATs on dry pavement turning out of the parking lot.. then wasn't use to the brakes and almost went through the stop sign..
We were not on good terms after that drive as she said "you like your Jeep more then me" and I didn't have a reassuring response..
Other dumb thing I did was trade it...
But at least XJ #3 is almost done

My lil sis did the same thing. I let her drive mine the day I got it. Jeep still wasnt insured or registered. She peeled out goin round a corner, I was yellin at her to take it easy. Made her go home after that.

You get stuck in mud or choke the engine?

I got it stuck in the mud in the bottom after it sat... I was spinning freely because it was sitting on it's axle's because of some ruts that were under the water and not visible. Thankfully it never stalled or sucked in water.

Didn't I see a pic of the skid marks in the frost and the beat to hell shed you hit? Could of sworn it was on a threat somewhere O_o
