Dana 44 axle problem

well we don't know what d44 it is all we know is its a rear 44 so no misinformation has been posted

it could be a c clip or not
if we had the year and model of vehicle it came from
with the info you posted we could say for sure

and say it however you want it wont hurt my feelings

Member or third member are good alternatives for carrier, also center section could work. I wanted to make sure what was being told him was correct.

Third member is something different from a carrier. It is part of the housing together with pinion and differential assembly.
For example toyotas:

Well ... I can deduce this much.


In post # 3 .... The original poster says he took off the drum brakes. And that D44 HD did not have drum brakes. So I think it's a pretty safe bet that he doesn't have that particular axle. And since that is the *only* c clip Dana44 axle that can be used in a Jeep (the other 2 that I mentioned are for IRS) .... it's a pretty sure bet.


So I still stand by what I said .... Put up RELEVENT information that will help, not confuse people.
