Default coolant bubbling HELP!!

today I added freon to my xj after doing that I drove a half hour and when I was parked with my ac on my temp gauge shot up I shut the truck off and heard bubbling which turned out to be coolant bubbling in my reservoir bottle and overflowing. the temp went down a little so I drove it home, on my way home every so often the temp would shoot up again and if I turned the air off then back on again it would go back down to normal. also if I stopped the gauge would go up but as soon as I'd drive it again itd go back down to normal. the engine is only a month a month old with all new gaskets including the head gasket. I checked anyway and there was no signs of a blown head gasket (oil in coolant/ coolant in oil) any ideas what it could be? could I have maybe overfilled the a/c and that could be causing it or something? I've never had this problem before and today was the first day I really used my ac. THANKS!

also it was about 110 degrees today with the heat index and the reason it's the first time I use the a/c is bc I was told by a shop my one line with the orifice is slightly clogged. he filled it for me about 3 weeks ago but I only used my a/c for about 10 mins ever since then my a/c was never cold but I figured I'd throw freon in today cuz it was too damn hot with out it lol I just used a can of the freon that you get from Walmart or pepboys

Is your electric fan operating when the AC comes on?

The AC puts a little extra strain on the engine/cooling system,

so the electric fan should come on...

First thing's first - you need to ensure that you have no air bubbles in your cooling system. It only takes a few minutes to do, so do it before you even bother scratching your head on anything else.

Let the engine cool. It doesn't have to be 100% cooled but use common sense.

Open the radiator cap and start the engine. Running it with the cap off depressurized the cooling system and allows air pockets to work their way out. Rev the engine a bit here and there to speed up the process - WEAR EYE PROTECTION though because it can splash. Have a coolant jug (with 50/50 mixture) handy to fill the radiator back up as the air pockets exit.

Once the coolant level seems to no longer be going down after, say, 30 seconds straight, then you're PROBABLY good to go and you can put the cap back on.

After this, try to recreate the circumstances which are causing your problem. Just try to catch it before it gets REALLY bad.

If that doesn't fix your problem, check your water pump, thermostat, and maybe a coolant flush is a good idea - radiator might be plugged up.

second fan is kicking on and already did the whole coolant thing...today my air was warm which it has been due to what I was told was a clogged orifice, anyway I drove it around for about an hr and temp gauge didnt go any higher than 210
