I too usually suggest people try out no sway bars, I have none and have made several emergency maneuvers. On my way home from work tonight I was even drifting... 4.5" with 33's
Its knowing how your rig will react
I'm trying to stay out of this, but I have to speak up...sway bars are meant to protect you from other drivers....everyone "thinks" they know how they're jeep will react, they may even go out to the parking lot and test it out with out sway bars, but the thing is, on the road, you can't predict when you'll have to make emergency maneuvers, therefore, you can't predict how the jeep will perform under those circumstances, if any of us really had that quick of reflexes, we'd all be challenging Ken Block to drift competitions ..YouTube for those who don't know who he is...

Wiggles, I would assume you had an angle riding with you during your predicament, I am glad you are ok...

I agree with the OP here, he has a point, and if it stirs the pot, so be it..maybe the ones that get offended are the ones giving bad advice...this needed to be said.

Sadly, it's going to take someone getting killed to slow this trend within the jeep world....

Is not spending $150 on sway bar disconnects worth your safety and others? Possible lives of others, and yours?

My jeep has softer suspension than most jeeps I know around me.
Anybody who actually knows me in person and has seen me drive can vouch for what I can do with my jeep.. things people would expect to roll during. Most the people won't push the limits to find how far they can go. Most people have no clue what their rig is actually capable of.
Many times have I pulled a tire up on the road or had the jeep leaned way over... and yet it still hasn't rolled.
I'm not saying drive your jeep like a race car but you don't have to drive in fear.

From what you say about how your jeep is set up, I'm assuming you have a pretty low cog, and a nice mix of reliable components ...I'm assuming you are the exception, because you're certainly not the norm....I agree, you don't have to drive in fear, but none the less, a little more safety, and a little less laziness at the trail head probably wouldn't hurt...you have to get out and air down at the trail head anyways...why not invest in quick disconnects, might add another 2 min at most..

Believe it or not sway bars, or rather a lack thereof, have been the driving force between every major atrocity and natural disaster in the last 200 years. Fukishima, Darfur, WWII, global warming, Nicki Minaj...all because of no swaybars.

So yesterday I see this. Vegas rental. I shoulda video taped it. She tried to do a uturn, right when she gets ready to hit the dirt shoulder, she stops and gets out, I was like oh shiit! She is gonna disco her sways.... Nah, she was just scared to turn it, so had to get the guide to help her. Moral of the story: majority of people behind the wheels of cars are idiots. So drive fast enough to stay in front of em!!! =P

How did the topic of conversation become a SWAYBAR? Now, I understand that most of you reading this just graduated from HS. A HS that appearently didn't have a good English/ Reading comprehension class. Or you just have ADD.....

I don't have sway bars on me jeep... sooo what? That's what I decided that I want.. so who gives a s***? Its not like leaving the oil filter off your engine, it is an option and personal preference simple as that.
Time to move on.

Or 90% have *****. The point was made a long time ago, way before you came in with a nose up an @ss. If someone says something online, and you take that as gospel, HERE'S YOUR SIGN.
