I jumped they did make a freedom ed for half year.. it was basically a sport with an apperence package and sold on the west coast that is why I have never seen one... sorry about that... I though they only had them in 2003 but it is well over priced... i think.. and the 2000 has the head cracking problem.. stick with the older ones

btw I just learned something new thank you

no, thank you for info. i still like the car, but have emailed those others you suggested.

what would the head cracking problem involve and when would it manifest itself, around this milage, or much later, and is it a big fix?

i know it is a problem that seems to happen on 2000-2001 jeep cherokee with the 4.0 with a head casting of 03331 and the only way to fix it is to get a whole new head... and it seems it can happen at anytime but it usually happens on motors with over 100k plus... from what I have read... me personally I have never owned a jeep newer then 1990 and they have always been good to me.. i prefer years 87-90 with a 4.0

seen a few online:

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false

looks nice, but seen a lot of really bad reviews of this dealer (really bad) so very wary of seeing anything there.

i saw that one, made me laugh, esp the mail tray if required. RHD not great for me out here - only just getting used to road as is, would mess me up proper, be on the left side again for sure.

thanks for all the advice tonight, much appreciated. i got to run, but hope to be on the forum soon when i got my ride...
