Wrong I did this and only got 1in lift from it. The grand cherokee had 90000 or so miles on it and was the highest trim level I could find in my area. I ended up putting lift knuckles in from autozone so it gave me a full 2in the front. Just my experience tho.

Yeah i'd take those off like now. I wouldnt even put those on a car, let alone a jeep. First time you get some good downtravel or hit a bump that thing is gonna pop out and put a dent in your fender. I've personally seen it happen

My dad picked up a '89 XJ & it has a 3" spacer lift in the front.

They are made of exhaust tubing.I have personally beat on the Jeep & they are still holding.

you have to forgive these people. the flame for all the wrong reasons. how about i (someone that has used spacers) chime in.
i would recomend going poly instead of aluminum, saves the time of having to track down 2 of the factory rubber isolators between the coils and where they sit. you can get lift shcakles from advance that will net u 2 or 3 inches. and find a 2 or 3 in spacer on ebay all for under 70 bucks. search around for the part numver on the shackles and there is a write up about it aswell. i would start with a 2 in budget and save for a 3 in kit preferably with LCA just my .02

To the OP, i made a set of 3" steel spacers for my old xj. Piece of tube with plates welded to either end with holes in the middle to fit over the bumpstop. Then i tacked them in place so the wouldnt make any noise. No point in welding them all around, just a few tacks and youre good to go. Ran it for years with no issues whatsoever. Do it man, dont forget to get longer shocks or extend those as well.
