I did it with a lowering kit for a mitsubish exlipse. You will also have to cut the trac bar to lengthen it. Messes up the caster for on road driving too.

i've got a pair of 2" spacers and 1" spacers that I had temporarily stacked in place till i could afford a bigger lift that I'll sell for $50 shipped. Let me know.

Or you can buy kens coil spacers and get v8 Grand Cherokee springs, that would work too

if you want to stay legal, the maximum amount of spacer, shackle, blocks, body lifts aloud is 2'' thats why they dont really make 3 inch spacers. but i got some zj springs at a junkyard for like 20bucks on an old 2.8l cherokee i used to have, and thats about an inch and half maybe. and then if you gets coil spacers on top of that, that outta do ya pretty cheap. but free? find some old tires and cut out like ten donuts for each side. haha

ive seen exactrly what your talking about doing on a white 92 xj up by me but he welded a 2in in the front with a 3.5 spring and he drives in on the road never seems to have problems so if you feel like you can pull it off i would say go for it

please please please explain WHY welding to the unibody is a bad idea. I guess I shouldn't plan on doing frame stiffeners, weld in rockers or various other things that I was gonna do. CRAP! I guess I'll just have to beat the body to hell and buy another when its toast.
