I have to replace the ignition cylinder and door locks on my 89 xj and would like them to be able to use the same key. Does any one sell a set that all uses the same key. Also can the rear hatch lock be replaced too. I haven't had any luck finding them as a set. Thanks for the help.

Not likely you are going to find a set all keyed alike unless you are able to find someone that is parting out a vehicle and you pull ignition and locks from that. Your best bet would be to have a locksmith re-key the locks. I did it when I replaced just the rear hatch lock and it cost $40, so could get costly to do all of your doors to match the ignition.

A matching set is probably out there, but if you can't find it, call a locksmith. They can fix you up.

I had a locksmith rekey my ignition cylinder when it broke ... now 3x ... each time was $15. You just have to find a locksmith who does not gouge. I was getting pricing in the $70 range from others. It is a wafer style lock and you can but a wafer kit online along with a good video by doorman on how to rekey.
Supposedly you can buy a ignition switch that you can key yourself.

I opted for the other one in my '00 cause I liked the idea of having two keys.
Not to mention did not care and to lazy to deal with it. LOL.
Reminded me of all the older GM's I used to own when I was younger.
Round key for the door and square for the ignition.
Well OK triangle in this case but close enough. MLOL.

I *thought* that you were supposed to press a button/pin on the side of the lock cylinder with the key inserted to set it to that key pattern. I made sure to do that when I replaced my ignition switch and found that detail in some video on YouTube.
Edit: Sorry about my bad memory. I replaced the switch and used the original key cylinder. IIRC, there was something I had to do to make sure it did not lose the key pattern.
