Default Bored throttle body

Has anyone here bought a bored TB from this Ebay seller? The price seems too good to be true.

Pasting the link doesn't seem to work. Search "Service to Bore out your Jeep Throttle Body 4.0L bored to 62mm 2.5L" on Ebay and you'll find it.

Unless you have a stroker and a better exhaust, save your money.

Thanks for the shout out cruiser. I can do all of the obd2 years. All pieces are cleaned, media blasted, lubed bored and fitted with a new plate. They are $180 shipped and I'll refund $30 back if you mail me your core.

I will be able to do renix TBs in the future as well.

I'm just wondering if anyone is familiar with the Ebay vendor. A bored TB isn't at the top of my list but absent of any negative feed back it's tempting to give him a try because of the price.

Cummins93, I'm sure you do great work but your out of my range as far as is it worth it. No offense intended.

BlueRidgeMark, can you expound? Did you install a bored Renix TB and not get the expected benefits?

There is plenty of reading available on the uselessness of a bored TB all by itself. It doesn't help an engine much to give it more air in if it can't get it out. As part of an overall strategy which includes other improvements, a bored TB might help, but all by itself, not enough to bother with.

Sounds logical but does that translate to Renix applications? I don't know enough about XJs but I don't think the exhaust system is much different between Renix and HO. If that's true there must be a reason they put a 58mm TB on the HO. A bored Renix TB would at least be catching up with the new fangled design. With that in mind an upgrade to a Renix may make more sense than an upgrade to something newer, no?

It could be, but what is the cost/benefit ratio?

It's quite noticeable on Renix because you're going from 52mm to 60mm.

Ho you go from 58mm to 60mm.

To clarify you are only looking for a bored Renix TB?
