bored with a 4 door.
I would like to chop my top someday.
But i don't really like the look of a 4 door chopped.
Could i move the B pillar to the 2 door location and use doors from a 2 door?

I wasn't a fan at first, but I really ended up liking the dovetailed 4 door look
moving pillars around is not fun ask me how I know. not worth the effort if you asked me. just get a 2 door

I just like thinking about stuff, figured it would be interesting.
I need my own garage before I'm able to make any great creations.

i want to do something like this, only backwards... I want to make a 4 door into a 2 door, but by chopping 10 inches out of the rear door area, which would shorten the wheelbase down to around 92". 2" lift, cut fenders, and 32's on stock wheels would make for one heck of a tight trail rig. the already tight turning radius would only be magnified by the shorter wheelbase.
Seems like everyone wants a longer wheelbase. Me personally, I am a fan of short wheelbase rigs. Your boy parts just need to swing a little lower because the shorter wheelbase isn't quite as stable on hillclimbs.

Hmm a complete shorten.
Id laugh to see the body shorter, but 4 link the rear to stay at stock wheel base, just you're hanging out

Buying a 2 door is easiest solution.
If time and money and resources are available, I have an idea. The 2 door Humvees such as M1152 is pretty much the same as a 4 door such as the M1151, other than the armor and such.
So you have a 4 door XJ then chop the top then cut the rear doors to half doors and weld the half doors to the body. Or make the half doors functional, your preference. This would make it that same utility style as a 2 door but without the long doors.
Idk if this has been done before, just sounds cool to me. Ofcourse the unibody would hate you but some sort of roll cage would help.

I was trying to figure out how to chop to just the small window so that the full window in the back would still work.
But i like your idea also. Not a fan of the back seat in these things any way. My gangsta lean takes up all the room back there.
